🧭 Using Alignment and Grouping Tools

The alignment and grouping tools allow you to precisely position multiple elements and organize them so they behave as a single unit. These tools appear automatically when more than one object is selected on a page.


📍 Select Multiple Elements

To use alignment or grouping tools, you must first select more than one element.

Steps

  • Click one element on the page
  • Hold the Shift key
  • Click additional elements to include them in the selection

  • Once multiple elements are selected, a formatting toolbar will appear at the top of your workspace.

📐 Alignment Options

The alignment tools let you line up selected elements relative to each other.

Available alignment options:

  • Align Top
  • Vertical Center
  • Align Bottom
  • Align Left
  • Horizontal Center
  • Align Right

Click the desired alignment icon to instantly reposition all selected elements.


🔗 Group Elements

Grouping links multiple elements so they behave as a single object.

To Group

  • Select multiple elements
  • Click the Group icon in the top toolbar

Once grouped, elements can be:

  • moved together
  • copied together
  • pasted together
  • deleted together

🔓 Ungroup Elements

To separate grouped items:

  • Select the group
  • Click the Ungroup icon


⚠️ Group Behavior Notes

  • Grouped elements move as one object
  • Individual elements inside a group cannot be resized together
  • Groups can be locked
  • Multiple groups can exist on the same page

💡 Tips for Best Results

  • Align elements before grouping for cleaner layouts
  • Use grouping when moving complex designs
  • Lock groups after placement to prevent accidental movement
