✨ Overview

Portrait pages in Creator Studio are designed to organize large groups of student portraits automatically. However, you may occasionally need to add photos, adjust name formatting, move portraits, or change how names are sorted.

Below are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions when working with portrait layouts.

❓ How do I add a non-portrait photo to my portrait layout?

There are two ways to add non-portrait images to a portrait page.

Method 1: Use a Layout with Photo Wells

Some portrait layouts include placeholders specifically designed for non-portrait photos.

1️⃣ Open the Layouts panel.
2️⃣ Select a layout that contains non-portrait photo wells.
3️⃣ Upload your image if necessary.
4️⃣ Drag the photo into the placeholder.

Method 2: Drag a Photo onto the Page

You can also place a photo anywhere on a portrait page.

1️⃣ Upload the image to the section folder.
2️⃣ Drag the image from the media tray onto the portrait page.

The image will be added as a regular photo element.

❓ How do I change the font and size of portrait names?

Portrait names can be edited directly within the layout.

1️⃣ Click on any set of names in the portrait layout.
2️⃣ The text editing panel will open on the left side.
3️⃣ Adjust the following settings:

  • Font
  • Font size
  • Style
  • Color

You can choose to apply these changes to:

  • Only the selected names
  • The entire page
  • The entire section

❓ How do I move specific people to certain positions on the page?

Portraits cannot be dragged to different positions in a portrait layout. To control who appears first (and where they land in the flow), use Priority.

✅ Use Priority to Control Portrait Order

Open People (Dashboard > People, or Editor > People > Edit People).

Edit the person and enter a Priority value (1–99).

Click Save.

Re-check your portrait page to confirm the updated flow.

Key rules:

Lower numbers appear first in the portrait layout flow.

If Priority is enabled for a class/grade, everyone in that group should have a value 1–99. Missing or duplicate values can cause portraits to appear out of order.

❓ How do I adjust how names are sorted or displayed?

Portrait name sorting and display settings can be changed in the Portrait Settings menu.

1️⃣ Click People in the top-right corner of the editor.
2️⃣ Select Portrait Settings.

3️⃣ Adjust settings such as:

  • Name sorting
  • Name display order
  • Formatting options

4️⃣ Click Close when finished.
